11 Inch Brass Nataraja Statue
Who is shown in this murti?
This 11 inch brass nataraja statue shows Lord Shiva as Nataraja, the king of dance. He dances inside a round ring of flames, with one leg lifted across his body and the other foot planted firmly down.
What can I see when I look closely?
He has four arms spread out in the dance. Long locks of hair fly out on both sides of his head, and a sash swirls around him, so you can almost feel the movement. Under his foot lies Apasmara, the small demon of ignorance, as in every traditional Nataraja. The ring around him has rows of open squares and flame points all along the edge. Everything stands on a lotus pedestal over a square stepped base. From the back you see a round disc behind his head and the plain back of the ring. It is cast in brass and then finished by hand with chisel work.
What does the dance mean?
The dance is believed to show the cycle of creation and ending, and Shiva crushing ignorance under his foot. That is why dancers and music teachers keep a nataraja murti and bow to it before class.
Where should I keep it?
A pooja room shelf, a dance or music room, or a study table all suit this size. At about 2.6 kg it stands firm, and the wide base keeps the tall ring steady.
How do I keep it clean?
The ring has many small open parts, so dust it with a soft dry brush once a week. Wipe the figure with a dry cloth.
Place him where you start your practice, and begin each day with his dance.
What are your murtis made of?
We offer both brass and stone murtis, handcrafted by skilled artisans. The material, exact size and weight of each murti are listed in the product details on this page.
Will the murti look exactly like the photos?
Every murti is handmade, so small differences are natural. Brass murtis can vary slightly in colour and finish, and stone murtis can show natural veins, shade and texture of the stone. The design and size stay the same as shown.

How do I clean and care for my murti?
Brass: wipe gently with a soft, dry cotton cloth. Avoid water, lemon and chemical polish. Brass slowly develops a warm patina over time; this is natural.
Stone: dust with a soft dry cloth, or a slightly damp cloth if needed, and let it dry fully. Avoid acidic cleaners, soaps and harsh chemicals. Handle with care and place it on a stable, flat surface, as stone can chip if it falls.
Which payment options are available?
You can pay securely online using UPI, debit or credit cards and net banking.
