10 Inch Brass Kali Idol with Kirtimukha Arch

Look at the very top of the arch first. A kirtimukha face sits there, with round eyes and an open mouth, keeping watch over Maa. This 10 inch brass kali idol with kirtimukha arch is named after that face, and many people who look for it online spell it kritimukha. In old temples the kirtimukha is put over the door to guard it, and here it guards the goddess.

Maa Kali under the guardian face

Below it, Kali Maa stands with one foot on Lord Shiva, who lies flat on his back along the base. Her upper right hand lifts a curved sword above her crown, and the upper left holds a cup. In her lower left hand she carries the asura’s head, and a long garland hangs from her neck down to her knees. Her tongue shows a little, as it does in most Kali murtis.

Flame edges and a three step base

The arch is edged with points shaped like flames and filled with small round flowers. Two small pillars stand at its feet. The base rises in three steps, with flower panels along the front. The karigar went over every part with a chisel after casting, which is why the flower lines stay so sharp.

At 3.4 kg she stands firm on a mandir shelf. Kali Maa is believed to remove fear and protect the family, and many homes do her pooja on Amavasya and on Kali Puja night at Diwali time.

A soft paintbrush run along the arch once a week keeps dust out of the flower cuts.

What are your murtis made of?

We offer both brass and stone murtis, handcrafted by skilled artisans. The material, exact size and weight of each murti are listed in the product details on this page.

Will the murti look exactly like the photos?

Every murti is handmade, so small differences are natural. Brass murtis can vary slightly in colour and finish, and stone murtis can show natural veins, shade and texture of the stone. The design and size stay the same as shown.

How do I clean and care for my murti?

Brass: wipe gently with a soft, dry cotton cloth. Avoid water, lemon and chemical polish. Brass slowly develops a warm patina over time; this is natural.

Stone: dust with a soft dry cloth, or a slightly damp cloth if needed, and let it dry fully. Avoid acidic cleaners, soaps and harsh chemicals. Handle with care and place it on a stable, flat surface, as stone can chip if it falls.

Which payment options are available?

You can pay securely online using UPI, debit or credit cards and net banking.
