Maa, her lion and Mahishasura
Maa stands tall in the middle, with a round halo of petals behind her crowned head. Her many arms fan out on both sides, holding her weapons, and a bow curves up on one side. With both hands on the long trident, she drives it down into Mahishasura, who kneels at her feet and looks up at her. Her lion leaps in from the left and bites into the demon’s arm. Everything rests on an oval base carved with a row of lotus petals.
The old story says the gods could not defeat Mahishasura, so each of them gave Maa a weapon, and she fought him for nine days and nights. That is why this form is worshipped through Navratri, and many families keep a durga idol like this to remember that good wins in the end. Her presence is believed to guard the home.
Stone soaks up oil and water, so keep the diya a little in front of her, never right under her.
What are your murtis made of?
We offer both brass and stone murtis, handcrafted by skilled artisans. The material, exact size and weight of each murti are listed in the product details on this page.
Will the murti look exactly like the photos?
Every murti is handmade, so small differences are natural. Brass murtis can vary slightly in colour and finish, and stone murtis can show natural veins, shade and texture of the stone. The design and size stay the same as shown.

How do I clean and care for my murti?
Brass: wipe gently with a soft, dry cotton cloth. Avoid water, lemon and chemical polish. Brass slowly develops a warm patina over time; this is natural.
Stone: dust with a soft dry cloth, or a slightly damp cloth if needed, and let it dry fully. Avoid acidic cleaners, soaps and harsh chemicals. Handle with care and place it on a stable, flat surface, as stone can chip if it falls.
Which payment options are available?
You can pay securely online using UPI, debit or credit cards and net banking.
