9 Inch Brass Garuda Statue with Folded Hands
Start at his crown. It rises to a point, with a round halo behind his head that you see clearly from the back. Below it, Garuda’s face is calm and his eyes look straight ahead.
This 9 inch brass garuda statue with folded hands shows him kneeling on one knee, hands joined in namaste in front of his chest, the way he waits before Lord Vishnu. Layers of necklaces hang on his chest, and bands circle his arms and wrists.
Then come the wings. One opens on each side of him, big and wide, with rows of feathers carved from top to bottom. They stand a little away from his body, so they look ready to lift him up. His other foot rests flat on the base, and a cloth hangs down between his knees.
He kneels on a round base with a wavy carved band. It is cast in brass and then finished by hand with chisel work, which is what keeps the feathers sharp. At about 2.7 kg he sits firm.
Garuda is the vahan of Lord Vishnu, the king of birds and a great devotee. In many South Indian temples he kneels facing the main shrine, and families keep a garuda statue facing their Vishnu or Balaji murti at home in the same way. He is also believed to protect from snakes and fear.
For care, dust the feathers with a soft dry brush and wipe him with a dry cloth. A brass garuda like this needs nothing more.
Place him facing your Balaji, and the mandir will feel complete.
What are your murtis made of?
We offer both brass and stone murtis, handcrafted by skilled artisans. The material, exact size and weight of each murti are listed in the product details on this page.
Will the murti look exactly like the photos?
Every murti is handmade, so small differences are natural. Brass murtis can vary slightly in colour and finish, and stone murtis can show natural veins, shade and texture of the stone. The design and size stay the same as shown.

How do I clean and care for my murti?
Brass: wipe gently with a soft, dry cotton cloth. Avoid water, lemon and chemical polish. Brass slowly develops a warm patina over time; this is natural.
Stone: dust with a soft dry cloth, or a slightly damp cloth if needed, and let it dry fully. Avoid acidic cleaners, soaps and harsh chemicals. Handle with care and place it on a stable, flat surface, as stone can chip if it falls.
Which payment options are available?
You can pay securely online using UPI, debit or credit cards and net banking.
