Sizes

The smallest diya here is about 1.6 inch and fits on any aarti plate. Daily use lamps are mostly 3 to 12 inch. The tallest lamps go up to 50 inch and stand on the floor. Each product page gives the exact height and weight.

How to choose

For daily aarti, a small one wick diya is easy to light and wash. For Diwali, buy a few small diyas together for rows at the door and windows. For a mandir with space, a peacock lamp or a lamp with five wicks gives more light. Temples and big halls usually pick a tall lamp that stands on the floor. Every lamp is cast in brass and finished by hand with chisel work.

Care

Let the lamp cool, then wipe out the old oil with a paper towel. Wash it in warm soapy water once a week and dry it fully. For a dark ring, rub with lemon and salt, then rinse and dry. More tips are in our guide on cleaning brass at home.

Questions buyers ask

Ghee or oil, which is better in a brass diya?

Both work. Many families use ghee for pooja and sesame or mustard oil for daily lighting. Use cotton wicks.

What is the difference between a diya and a lamp?

Here a diya is usually a small cup with one or a few wicks. A lamp is taller, often on a stem or stand, with a bigger bowl.

How many wicks should I light?

One wick is enough for daily pooja. Five wicks are often lit for aarti on festival days.

Will the brass turn dark?

The area near the flame darkens a little with use. A quick clean with lemon and salt brings the shine back.

Pick the one that suits your mandir, and let it light up your home every evening.
