Brass Krishna Idols for Home Mandir and Janmashtami

Some families want Krishna playing his flute, some want the little butter thief, and some want him with Radha Rani by his side. This page puts all our brass Krishna murtis together, so you can compare the forms and sizes in one place and pick the one that feels like yours.

What you will find here

  • Krishna playing the flute: the most loved form, standing in the tribhanga pose with one foot crossed over the other.
  • Krishna with cow: Gopal with a cow or calf beside him, like our 4.2 inch Krishna idol with cow.
  • Krishna under a tree: more than ten pieces show him under a tree such as the kadamba, some with a peacock or a cow.
  • Radha Krishna: about twenty pairs and single-piece sets, from small mandir sizes to 30 inch idols. See the Radha Krishna section for all of them.
  • Bal Krishna and Makhan Chor: baby Krishna with a pot of butter, like the 5.5 inch Makhan Chor Krishna, or resting in a shell.
  • Other finishes: plain golden brass, antique polish, black lacquer coating and a few colourful pieces.

Sizes

The smallest murtis start at about 3.2 inch, small enough for a car dashboard or a study table. Most home mandirs use 6 to 12 inch. The biggest pieces go up to 56 inch and are made for temples, halls and large pooja rooms. The exact height and weight are on every product page.

How to choose

Measure the height and depth of your mandir shelf first, and leave some space above the crown and in front for the diya. For daily pooja, a flute playing Krishna of 6 to 9 inch suits most homes. If you want Gau Mata too, pick a Krishna with cow, or see our Kamdhenu section. Every krishna idol for home here is cast in brass and finished by hand with chisel work, so the flute, the crown and the folds of the dhoti stay sharp.

Care

Dust your murti with a soft dry cloth once a week. When it gets dull, use a little lemon or tamarind, rinse and dry fully. Antique and black pieces only need dusting. Our guide on how to clean brass idols at home gives the full steps.
